Expository Sermons from the Book of First Samuel
The Book of 1 Samuel details the move away from a true theocracy in ancient Israel to a monarchy. While God never intended Israel to have a king like the other nations around them, he allowed kings to be raised who were faithful to him. The Book begins with Samuel’s birth and moves to detail the reign of Saul, from the king’s rise to his dramatic fall. The image above depicts Hannah, Samuel’s mother, in prayer.
