Today we took our last CALCM package out of our structures and actually uploaded into the frame as we gear up to download those missiles for the final time here at the second MUNS to get those weapons ready for retirement.

This weapons system’s been online since the 90s and now it’s being taken offline. Really what it’s doing is reducing our workload quite a bit. We’ll download these missiles and then that’s it for them. We can now focus on moving forward in other areas of our job. Basically, what we provide, as far as deterrence and assurance for America as a whole, I feel like that provides American citizens the ability to sleep peacefully at night, knowing that we’re able to provide them that peace. It’s kind of a historic moment in time.
