We’ve got some difficult days ahead.

But it really doesn’t matter with me now.

Because I’ve been to the mountaintop!

Members of the Hanscom community attended an event January 15 at the Minutemen Commons, to commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by exploring his last speech, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop,” and an open letter he wrote in 1963.

We have some questions for you, and we’re gonna have you discuss it amongst your tables, talk about it, and then we’re gonna share your findings from the group.

The discussion provided attendees a chance to learn from each other.

You kind of learn about how other people view Dr. King, how they view the Dr. Martin Luther King holiday, a day on, not a day off.

Organizers spoke about the event’s success.

Feel like people walked away with learning something that they didn’t know before, and knowing that they’re probably going to look into who MLK was, the circumstances around it a bit more, and they’re gonna share that with their friends, family, and communities. So, information sharing is my biggest thing, I think that was accomplished today, and I think it’s gonna perpetuate itself and pay itself forward.

This is Rick Berry, Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts.
