Veterans Recognition at Michigan State Capitol Rotunda


Adjutant General of Michigan Maj. Gen. Paul Rogers joined Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency Director Zaneta Adams, and keynote speaker Maj. (Ret.) Chris Stone November 7, 2019, at the capitol rotunda in downtown Lansing, Michigan to honor veterans for their service.

The occasion also marked the 20 year anniversary of Maj. Stone’s release as a prisoner of war during his deployment to Kosovo. (Video by Capt. Joe Legros)

Good morning ladies and gentlemen and Welcome to the first Veteran’s Recognition Ceremony.

Fortunately, in this country we set aside a day every year to thank those who sacrificed, who gave of their time and their talent to defend our nation and support our state.

So this happens to be the 20 year anniversary from when I was released as a prisoner of war, Which has been a special milestone of reflection for me. I appreciate your sharing your story and I know everyone who has served has some phenomenal stories from the time you served our country and we are truly grateful as a state and as a nation. Thank you for your service.
