Faithfulness | A Bible Class on the Works of the Flesh and the Fruit of the Spirit

The next grace which comprises the Spirit’s fruit is faithfulness. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law” (Gal 5:22-23).

The Greek term Paul used here is simply “faith.” It is the term used throughout the New Testament to speak of one’s faith in God. The idea here seems to be a full assurance of the truthfulness of God. This is the confidence in God and his Word that doesn’t waver when life becomes difficult. This confidence remains static throughout one’s life.
