(Air Force Staff Sgt. Brycen Guerrero) The incredible story of America’s first astronauts the Mercury Seven is being retold on the Disney Plus original series “The Right Stuff.” I’m Staff Sgt. Brycen Guerrero, and I sat down with some of the actors and production team about what it took to tell the story right.

(Jennifer Davisson) It basically follows the Mercury 7 astronauts, being selected, all the way through in 1961.

(Patrick J. Adams) I have the deep honor and pleasure of playing Major John Glenn, who was one of the first Americans in space, one of the Mercury Seven. To be standing in those places and to understand, it was pretty hallowed ground. It feels like something really important in American history happened. Something about getting to know John Glenn has left a mark in my life. His dedication to his work, to his family. His pioneering spirit, his work ethic. It’s left a mark, It’s made me a slightly different person. It’s made me sort of reassess what my relationship is to all of those things.
