(President Franklin D. Roosevelt) The American people and their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.

(Gilbert Nadeau) All we knew was that we had to go in and win. That’s how we felt. We had that feeling. We go in and win. And there’s some kids, we were young. We knew the possibility we may not come back. But we didn’t dwell on that. We dwelled on the fact that we’re going in to end the war in our favor. And that’s what we did. So that winning the war meant keeping American freedom and many other countries in this world, keeping their freedom.
