To properly remove a tick, all you need is a pair of clean tweezers, gently and slowly pulled upwards. You’re gonna pull out the mouth, parts of the ticks or as close to your skin as possible. And then once you remove the tick, only then will you apply antibiotic ointment. Our program offers a free tick testing service for DOD and its beneficiaries. Make sure you bring any information on where you may have been bit and the date that it was removed so we can capture that information.
