Victory or Death: Changing the Course of the American Revolutionary War

General George Washington and the Continental Army crossed the Delaware River on Christmas night 1776 to march to Trenton, New Jersey. This daring maneuver led to victory in the Battle of Trenton and altered the course of the American Revolutionary War. Each year on Christmas Day, hundreds of people gather at Washington Crossing Historic Park to hear Washington’s stand-in deliver stirring words to the troops and watch three boats make the crossing from Pennsylvania to New Jersey.
