[Reporter] You can feel the excitement as spouses, children and fellow service members eagerly wait for their Airmen to return home. The 606 Air Control Squadron is returning from a six-month deployment, where they provided a real time battle space picture, through tactical command and control, and surveillance.

On this rotation I was definitely most proud of the leadership that we had, from the lowest level all the way up. And specifically, the Senior NCOs.

[Reporter] This expeditionary team was responsible for supporting operations in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and the Arabian Gulf.

I’m very proud of my team. We accomplished a lot. Mainly with our radars. With Powerpro giving us power and Atrack keeping us cool. We were able to keep it running, just shy of a 100% of the time.

[Reporter] After a successful deployment, the 606 is looking to the future.

We’re gonna take some downtime for the next couple of months, but as soon as a year rolls round, we’re gonna ramp it, start wrapping it back up. I like to thank the 31st Fire Wing leadership General Lasica, for the amount of support that the Wing gives to its units while it’s deployed. Out of six rotations, this has been the most support I’ve seen in even this here, the reception here. It’s been great.

[Reporter] After the excitement settles, the next priority for these Airmen is to reintegrate and reunite with their families at home. Star Sergeant Laurel Richards, Aviano Air Base, Italy.
