The Confidence of a Warrior


U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CLDJ-HOA) and Japanese Self-Defense Force (JSDF) military members train together on combatives capabilities in Djibouti, November 8-9, 2019. Over the the two-day joint training, military members were guided by U.S. Army and Japanese combatives instructors on how to perform maneuvers correctly; while strengthening the U.S. and Japanese relationship. We always need confidence with whatever our missions are. If we’re going out there in a reconnaissance mission, we need to have confidence in each other. We need to have confidence in our skills and ability. Martial arts builds that and it builds workmanship. If you ever have to do anything for any emergency here, we can work together, it’s a team effort. We can do this together we don’t have to be worried about them, and they won’t have to be worried about us.
