[Narrator] First Lieutenant Loren Hintz was a World War II pilot who crashed on a mission in Italy, in April of 1945. On November 17th 2019, the 21st Theater Sustainment Command Mortuary Affairs supported repatriation and final burial of his additional remains at Florence American Cemetery in Italy. (“Bugle Taps”)

[Daniel] This was a first for ABMC, so we built a partnership with ABMC and the 21st TSC. We work with them doing 75 disinterments a year, but instead of taking away, this time we we’re given something back. (“Bugle Taps”)

I think of myself as a rather pragmatic person, not too prone to emotion. It was emotional on the day of the memorial, and the burial. I’ve had almost three years to think about it. It was important for me and for my family, for my brother and I, to plan the memorial and the burial for my dad, Lieutenant Loren Hintz.
