Colorado-Jordan State Partnership Program at Northern Strike 19

Colorado National Guardsmen and their state partners from Jordan’s King Abdullah II Air Base practice sling load drills at Northern Strike 19, Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center, Michigan, July 22, 2019.

Northern Strike 19 is a National Guard Bureau-sponsored exercise uniting service members from more than 20 states, multiple service branches and numerous coalition countries during the last two weeks of July 2019 at the Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center and the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center, both located in northern Michigan and operated by the Michigan National Guard. The accredited Joint National Training Capability exercise demonstrates the Michigan National Guard’s ability to provide accessible, readiness-building opportunities for military units from all service branches to achieve and sustain proficiency in conducting mission command, air, sea and ground maneuver integration, together with the synchronization of fires in a joint, multinational, decisive action environment (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Senior Airman Gary Leonard).

So, Colorado has a partnership with Jordan. And it allowed us to come here to Northern Strike for our second year. Jordan sends over their experienced aviators and crew members here to Northern Strike and we get to sit down as senior instructor pilots and talk about tactics, techniques and procedures, share knowledge and experiences, which allow us to be safer aviators and conduct safer missions here at Northern Strike and real world missions.

Our partnership from the U.S. it’s important for many thing. Today it is a new environment, it is very good chance for me to fly outside of Jordan, to fly in the United States, to see how they work, how they prepare, how they execute the mission. It was very good, actually very good opportunity for us to fly here in United States with our battleship, they provide a lot of us. Thank you. Thank you for this good partnership.
