Deep-water diver fits a closed-circuit heated water pumping system to a valve on the Coimbra shipwreck to safely recover oil at a depth of 180 feet. A unified command of US Coast Guard and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation began recovery operations on May 11, 2019 after discovering a significant amount of oil trapped in the Coimbra wreck.
