Thomas Believes (John 20:24-31)

Thomas was not with the others when Jesus first appeared to them. What are some of your ideas as to why Thomas was not with the apostles when Jesus first appeared to them? What are some things Thomas missed by being absent?

Why might Thomas have a hard time believing that the apostles had seen Jesus?

Jesus did precisely what Thomas had asked for, viz, gives him visual evidence of the Resurrection. If we live by faith, why did Jesus allow Thomas to have visual evidence? What might we learn from Thomas?

Thomas promptly answered, “My Lord and my God!” How is Jesus Lord? How is Jesus God? What are some ways that we demonstrate that Jesus is our Lord and God?

Why are those who have not seen and yet believed blessed?

Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples which are not written in John. How can we know, therefore, that we have an accurate representation of what Jesus did?

What is the connection between Scripture and faith?
