The Wedding at Cana (John 2:1-12)
What might Jesus’ presence at the wedding teach us about the way he viewed marriage?
Why would Mary tell Jesus that they had run out of wine?\
Jesus said to his mother, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” “Woman” was a polite form of address in Jesus’ day, something like “Ma’am” in our day. Why had Jesus’ hour not yet come? What was Jesus’ “hour?” When would his hour come?
Mary told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” If Jesus had already refused her request, why would Mary persist? What might Mary’s telling the servants to follow Jesus’ instructions tell us about the relationship she and Jesus shared?
Why did Jesus instruct the servants take the water turned wine to the master of the feast?
What was the difference in the wine Jesus made and the other wine served at the wedding?
How did Jesus’ sign manifest his glory?
Why would Jesus’ turning water into wine lead his disciples to believe on him?
