“Now is the judgment of this world.” In what way had judgment come upon the world?

How was the ruler of the world going to be cast out?

Jesus, being lifted up, would draw all peoples to himself. Does this necessarily mean that all people are going to be saved? Why or why not? What do you think Jesus is teaching?

How did Jesus’ statement in verse 32 signify what kind of death he would die

The people answered Jesus, “We have heard from the Law that the Christ remains forever.” Where have they learned such a thing? Does the Christ remain forever?

How would the light be with the people only “a little while longer?” Doesn’t Jesus continue to be the light of the world?

How could darkness overtake these Jews? How might darkness overtake us?

How does one “believe in the light?”

How could people see Jesus do many signs and still not believe?

How did God blind eyes and harden hearts? Does he continue to do so?

Does verse 40 mean that God doesn’t want to heal (i.e., save) some people?
