Jesus is Equal with God (John 5:18)

Notice at verse 17 that Jesus referred to God as “my Father.” The only time that Jesus referred to the Father as “our Father” was in the “Model Prayer.” In that prayer, Jesus was not so much praying himself as he was teaching his disciples how to pray. Jesus’ constant use of “my Father” demonstrated that he and the Father had a unique relationship shared by no one else. What was the unique relationship Jesus enjoyed with his Father? Why would the Jews take Jesus’ statement as an affirmation of his deity?

Why would Jesus’ affirmation of deity cause the Jews to wish to kill him all the more?

John said that Jesus was breaking the Sabbath. Did Jesus really break the Sabbath? Why or why not?

Is Jesus equal with God?
