Jesus is Crucified (John 19:16-30)

Why did the soldiers compel Jesus to bear his own cross?

Any thoughts on why the place Jesus was crucified was called the Place of a Skull?

If Pilate did not believe, why would he write above the cross “JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS?”

Why would the chief priests want the title changed?

What would possess the soldiers to divide Jesus’ garments by casting lots?

What might have been going through Mary’s heart as she stood by the cross?

Are there any lessons we should learn from Jesus’ telling Mary that John was her “son?”

Are there any lessons we should learn from John’s taking Mary into his home?

Any idea why Jesus might have been thirsty?

Notice that Jesus bowed his head and gave up his spirit in verse 30 (cf. Jn 10:18).
