What Does God Do When I Hurt?
This lesson was preached at a funeral service in October 1996.
Sadly, hurt is a part of life. What does God do when I hurt?
He Loves, 1 John 4:8
There are no greater words than “I love you.”
God loves so much that his character is described as love. God loves you.
He Cares, 1 Peter 5:7
God cares about your life (Ps 8:3-4).
He cares about me so much that he tells me to cast my anxieties on him.
When Jesus saw people hurt, he wept (Jn 11:35). Jesus was a man “acquainted with grief” (Is 53:3).
He Comforts, 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
When we hurt, we want comfort.
God will comfort us in all our affliction.
