Can This Be the Christ? (John 7:25-31)

Why did the authorities say nothing to Jesus although he was teaching publicly?

Do you think it’s possible that the authorities really knew that Jesus was the Christ? Why or why not?

Why did the people not know from where the Christ would come? Did not the chief priests and scribes tell the magi that the Christ would be born in Bethlehem (Matthew 2:5-6)?

If the people claimed they did not know from where Jesus had come, why did he say they did know?

How is the One who sent Jesus true?

Why did the Jews not know him who sent Jesus? How could they have known him? How do we come to know him?

No one arrested Jesus for his hour had not come. Why, therefore, does John 7 begin with a statement that Jesus did not go into Judea because the authorities were seeking to kill him?

What caused many to believe in Jesus?

Why would the people believe the Christ would do more signs than Jesus had done?
