Petty Officer Joshua Stewart takes an oil sample during the Coimbra oil recovery operation and an tank of recovered oil is transferred for disposal. A unified command of US Coast Guard and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation began recovery operations on May 11, 2019 after discovering a significant amount of oil trapped in the Coimbra wreck.
