[Male] Two, three.
[Mario] USS John S. McCain heads out to conduct sea trials in preparation of its return to the fleet. Sea trials will mark the first time McCain gets underway since its collision in 2017.
Over the last almost, over a year and a half now we’ve been putting the ship back together, putting the crew back together, training up and making sure that we’re ready to take the ship back to sea.
[Mario] John S. McCain will begin basic phase training in November once the ship returns from sea trials. This is part of a concentrated effort to return the ship to a fully resilient and ready status in the fleet.
The goal is to make it more capable, more lethal, and more ready to continue to support security and stability around the region.
[Mario] Reporting from Fleet Activities Yukosuka, I’m Petty Officer Mario Kodo.
