110th Wing Resiliency Tactical Pause 2019


The 110th Wing held a Resilience Tactical Pause at Battle Creek Air National Guard Base, Michigan on October 24, 2019. The event is for Suicide Prevention and featured guest speakers Detective Aaron Smith and Detective Tyler Sutherland from the Battle Creek Police Department (U.S. National Guard video by Senior Airman Gary Leonard).

Today it’s about airmen and making sure that we’re taking care of each other. The chief of staff of the Air Force has come up with a great plan, and that plan is to do a Resilience Tactical Pause.

Today is not just a one and done event. We’re gonna continue to work to build a community that is breaking down the stigma of mental health.

What are the costs of the short and long-term trauma and effects on first responders, civil servants, military, et cetera?

One of the biggest tools that allowed me to get back in the game, so to speak, or to get back into work was the changing of the mindset, breaking the stigma of talking to somebody, getting some help.
