CW5(R) Surian induction to the U.S. Army Military Police Hall of Fame. Due to COVID restrictions, this year ceremony was conducted in a virtual setting.

[Narrator] Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the United States Army Military Police School, 2020, Regiment Hall of Fame Induction. All parts of this ceremony were conducted in accordance with the most recent Covid-19 guidelines. In 1992, the Military Police Regimental Association, established the Military Police Regimental Hall of Fame. To recognize, and honor former members of the Military Police Corps, who made significant contributions to the development of the Regiment. Each year, the United States Army Military Police School, accepts nominations from across the world for induction into the Hall of Fame. A special selection board, of past, and present senior members of the Regiment convenes to review each nominee’s military service and merit. Selected nominees, significantly contributed to the evolution, and definition of the Military Police Corps character, doctrine, mission, and or training. In certain instances, the selection recognizes the exemplary, or heroic actions. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s a distinct pleasure to introduce, the Chief of the Military Police Corps Regiment, and the Commandant of the United States Army Military Police School, Colonel Niave F. Knell.

Hi, I’m Colonel Niave Knell 51st Commandant. Today it’s my pleasure to announce the 2020 Regimental Hall of Fame winners. This is the largest group of recipients that we’ve had. We have eight total. They represent two of our compostion. Hopefully, next year we’ll represent all three, but we do represent three in the missions. We have the combat and support, MP mission, CID mission, and the corrections mission, represented. Two of our recipients, are winners for of medals for Valor. All of our winners exemplify our model of assist, protected, and defend, and all continue to serve, in some capacity, either as volunteers or SDA civilians. We’re all very proud of our 2020 Hall of Fame inductees, and congratulations to them.

[narrator] Today, we honor, Chief Warrant Officer Five, retired, Guy Surian, outstanding leadership, and significant contributions to our Military Police Corps Regiment, our army and our nation. Ladies and gentlemen, It is my pleasure to welcome, Chief Warrant Officer Five, retired Leroy Shamburger, to introduce chief Surian

(mumbles) Colonel Promotable Nell, Chief Warrant Officer Five, O Nell, and Commander Sergeant Major Bennett, and the rest of the MP regiment. It is my honor to introduce to the regiment, CW Five Retired, and GS 15, Guy A. Surian. Mr. Surian began his military career as a patrolman in 1972, and has continued to serve the MP regimen, for the past 47 years, as an enlisted patrolman, warrant officer CID agent, Mr Surian excel at all levels of responsibility, culminating with this assignment as the chief of investigative operations for CID command, the highest warrant officers, officer position within CID command at the time. Upon his retirement from active service in 2000, he was hired as the assistant deputy chief of staff, for operations at CID command. In these two positions for more than 20 years, Mr. Surian, was personally responsible, for oversight of approximate 10,000 investigations per year, the professional development of CID agents, development and implementation of the criminal intelligence, digital forensics, and sexual assault programs. Manage interactions with Congress, Department Of Defense, Department of the Army, family members, and media, all wine insurance, CID command was positioned to support the army of the future. I can’t do justice to his many significant contributions, so I refer you to his biography, but know that he continues to serve the army, the military police regiment, and CID command, as the assistant deputy chief of staff for operations, with the continued enthusiasm, and professionalism. Ladies and gentlemen, I introduced to you a friend, role model, someone I tried to emulate, and the newest inductee, into the MP Regimental Hall of Fame, Mr. Guy A. Surian.

[narrator] Thank you, sir. Chief warrant officer five retired Guy Surian, served over a 45 years career, as an enlisted warrant officer, and civilian criminal investigator culminating in his assignment as the deputy G-3 for investigative operations United States, army criminal investigation command. His significant contributions include the development, and implementation of the CID criminal intelligence program, CID digital forensic examiner program, and the CID sexual assault response program. Since his retirement from active duty in 2000, he continues to serve the military police Corps, and the United States army, at USC. In recognition of his truly significant achievements, and exceptional contributions to our country, and the United States Army Military Police Corps, Chief warrant officer five, retired Surian, is hereby inducted into the military police Corps, regiment hall of fame, by the order of the chief of the military police Corps, Chief Surian is awarded with the regimental hall of fame medallion, engraved with his name, and years of service. The medallion carries the regimental crest, along with a wooden regimental case. Chief Surian, is also receiving a regimental hall of fame certificate of induction signed by the chief of the military police Corps, and the regimental hall of fame lapel pin. Lastly, he received one of the two bricks, donated by the NPRA The second brick, will be placed at the MP Memorial Grove. The military police Corps regiment, is honored to accept this award On behalf of Chief Warrant Officer Five retired Guy A Surian. Due to mission requirements, he is unavailable at this time to accept this prestigious award, but would like to express his profound gratitude, to all of the members of the MP regiment for this honor, he is pleased, and humbled to accept this award, and to join past recipients, who he is long admired and respected. It is a privilege to be recognized for lifelong accomplishments, but he would like to send an enormous salute to those who worked alongside of him during his career. Thank you. ladies and gentlemen, at this time, Chief Warrant Officer Five retired Guy Surian, photo was being unveiled on the hall of fame wall, signifying his induction into the Military Police regimental hall of fame.
